Paxen names Semancik as Chief Operating Officer

semancik_72dpiMELBOURNE, Florida—Richard Semancik has been named Chief Operating Officer at Paxen Learning, the premier provider of outcome-based educational programs and materials that build academic and employability skills for at-risk learners. In this role, Mr. Semancik ensures the company’s overall operational excellence and provides stewardship and guidance for its growth and ongoing success. He previously served as Paxen’s executive vice president, customer solutions.

Mr. Semancik, a veteran of contract management, strategic planning and business development, has played an instrumental role in leading the company’s recent customer-focused initiatives. He has led Paxen’s efforts in enhancing the company’s operations infrastructure and internal efficiencies while maximizing the delivery of services and performance outcomes.

Prior to joining Paxen, Mr. Semancik served as senior vice president at G4S Youth Services, which recently acquired Sunshine Youth Services, a Tampa-based company Mr. Semancik co-founded in 2000. Mr. Semancik also was employed at several juvenile behavioral health treatment organizations in Southwest Florida, working in operations management roles and overseeing the successful expansion of those facilities.  

Mr. Semancik has served on a number of state-level committees and associations throughout his career. He is a committee member of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and also served as a task force member of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s certification committee in the juvenile justice field. For more than 14 years, Mr. Semancik was a member of the Florida Juvenile Justice Association, during which time he served on numerous committees addressing policy and rule formulation.

Mr. Semancik holds a master's degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of South Florida.
