Paxen’s GED Prep Xcelerator earns national honor from COABE

MELBOURNE, Florida—Paxen Learning, a premier provider of outcome-based educational and employability programs for at-risk learners, earned national recognition recently for its revolutionary GED Prep Xcelerator program.

The GED Prep Xcelerator program received honorable mention in the category of “Outstanding Workplace Literacy Program” from the Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE). Presented annually, the award honors organizations that consistently develop outstanding workplace literacy programs at the community, state, or national level.

In recognizing GED Prep Xcelerator, COABE cited the program’s contributions to adult-basic education and literacy and its successes in improving the lives of thousands of military members and civilians who have participated in the program. Paxen partners with, and receives support from, a variety of government and community-based organizations to offer the program.

Paxen unveils civic justice program in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii—Young people in the juvenile justice system now have a new tool in their corner to help guide and keep them focused on a new, positive life direction. Based on the joint efforts of the State of Hawaii Department of Defense and Paxen Huli Ke Alo, the Hawaii Civic Justice Corps program provides a customized approach to reconnect juvenile offenders to their communities—reducing their rate of recidivism and providing these youth and young adults with meaningful opportunities to become productive members of society.

The program is offered in Honolulu in the County of Oahu and in Hilo and Keaau in Hawaii County. It will serve 50 youth and young adults a year, ages 18 to 24, from the State’s juvenile justice system.
