BASE blends remedial math and reading with job skills, independent living skills, and critical thinking skills to prepare young people for life in the workplace and at home.

What makes BASE stand out is the way the basic skills are integrated throughout the program activities. When students practice taking a telephone message or prepare a household budget, they are reinforcing basic math and reading skills. Our instructors tell us this is the element of the program clients truly respond to, because we present the topics in a context that makes sense to them.
