Mr. Geoffrey R. H. Burn
Geoffrey R. H. Burn is Managing Director of the Stanford University Press. As the senior manager at the Press, Mr. Burn is responsible for the current publishing program in scholarly books as well as developing important new lines of publication. All aspects of editorial and production operations, marketing and distribution are under his purview.

Mr. Burn was previously President and CEO of the Brooks/Cole Group in Monterey, California – a part of the Thomson Corporation that publishes print and electronic products for the college market in mathematics, statistics, science, engineering and computer science. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Thomson Science & Professional, a group of companies in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany that publishes journals, magazines, books, CDs and online products for researchers and practitioners in biomedicine, applied science, engineering, architecture and business technology.

Other prominent positions have included executive director of the BMJ Publishing Group, British Medical Association in London; managing director of Butterworth Scientific Limited in Guildford, England; president of Butterworth Law Publishers Canada in Toronto and Vancouver; and a series of positions with Methuen Publications in Canada.

Mr. Burn's industry appointments have included director, University, College and Professional Publishers Group, the Publishers Association (UK); director, the Canadian Book Publishers' Council; and president, College Publishers' Group of the Canadian Book Publishers' Council.

Geoffrey was the founding program director of the Professional, College and School Publishing Courses at the Banff School of Fine Arts. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a member of the British Academy of Management.


Mr. Peter Hoenigsberg
Peter Hoenigsberg is currently CEO of Decision Resources, a Castanea Partners and Boston Ventures portfolio company.

Peter was President and CEO of Harcourt Inc.’s largest and most profitable division, The Worldwide Scientific, Technical and Medical Group. He has been a leader in the Publishing Industry for 25 years. Prior to joining Harcourt, he was at the Thomson Corporation where he ran The International and Media Group for ITP (now Thomson Learning). In his earlier career, he spent 13 years at Addison-Wesley (Pearson) in several senior capacities responsible variously for their Corporate and Professional Group, International Publishing Group and their United Kingdom operation.  

Educated in South Africa and Great Britain, Peter has participated in a number of executive development programs including INSEAD and The London Business School.   Peter is a past member of the Executive Board of the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers, the Executive Committee of the International Division of the American Publishers Association (AAP) and the Executive Council of the British Publishers Association.


Mr. Chris H. Rudge
Chris H. Rudge is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee and a former senior executive and member of the Office of the CEO of Quebecor World Inc., the world’s largest commercial printer, employing 43,000 people at 160 plants in 16 countries in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Over his 12 years with Quebecor World Inc., Mr. Rudge held several executive positions including: Executive Vice President, Marketing, Communications and International Development; and Chairman, CEO and President, Que-Net Media.  He has also been President of Quebecor Printing Canada, and President, International Operations (Europe, Latin America and India) and Special Assistant to the CEO at Quebecor Printing Inc.

Prior to joining Quebecor World Inc. in 1991, Mr. Rudge was President and Part Owner of Pickering, Ontario-based Web Offset Publications.  He has also been General Manager, Sales & Marketing at Maclean Hunter Printing and has held various senior advertising sales positions at The Financial Post, including National Advertising Manager.

Mr. Rudge is and has been active on a number of boards, including Merrill Lynch Canada, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the National Ballet of Canada, the White Ribbon Campaign, the School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University where he co-chaired the New Building Campaign, the University of Toronto Department of Athletics Restricted Funds Committee and the Country Day School (Vice Chairman). He was a Member of the Province of Ontario’s Olympic Trust and Waterfront Development Board and Chairman of the Town of Vaughan’s Recreation and Sports Advisory Committee and has been an active member of the Canadian Printing Industry Association.

Mr. Rudge holds a teaching certificate from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Physical Education and Health from the University of Toronto.


Mr. David H. Simon
Mr. Simon is a financial professional with 26 years of banking and investment industry experience with a concentration in middle market - corporate financial and transaction services. He is currently the CEO and principal partner of CS Capital Strategies Financial Group. Mr. Simon acquired controlling interest in CS Capital Strategies and has converted it from an independent firm model to a full service boutique firm based on a wealth management platform. As a result, David has grown the firm from $40 million to one that currently manages assets in excess of $175 million.

Prior to his acquisition of CS Capital Strategies Financial Group, David was President and a principal of Capital Strategies Group - an Investment Banking and Corporate Finance company with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, equity placements, private placements, venture funding and corporate banking transactions for small and middle market companies in the southeastern US.

Mr. Simon has an extensive background in the commercial banking arena and has held various senior management positions for a variety of banking institutions in Orlando, Florida. He holds a degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and attended law school at the Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio.
